A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, says the   leadership qualities of a former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, made the PDP the dominant party in the state.

Onuesoke said this in Ughelli during the monthly forum of political appointees hosted by Chief Andy Asewota.

His words:   “For a party that has retained power this long there must be a reason it has remained this entrenched. It is because the Delta PDP offered wonderful stewardship to the people of the state.

“The new administration came on board when there were several problems. But, today, the Okowa administration has been able to stabilize governance.

“The second major achievement of the Okowa administration, which had resulted in stabilization and growth of the party, has to do with diverting the attention of the youths to employment generation.

“Several roads are currently under construction in the three senatorial districts of the state. The governor visits the road construction sites.  The aforementioned achievements and others by their various leaders  are responsible for the growth and stabilization of PDP in Delta State.’’
